Pretty much all of my running gear is from the sierra donor of which i still have the V5. Steering column, front uprights, rear axle, rear uprights,
brakes all round, a lot of the wiring loom.
The engine and gearbox come from different sources and are both Toyota and both older than the sierra.
With the above type statement would I be able to get an age related plate?
What if i tried to persuade the DVLA that the gearbox was from the sierra as well and that the only different things were the engine and rack, would
this be a BIG nono?
Register your donor car with the engine number thats in your car. That shoudl make sure you get one.
Dont think they generally fall for that one any more but nothing to lose apart from a stamp by trying it!!
I think you need pics of the engine change
My Striker was made up from a J plate Sierra running gear and a Toyota engine. I have a J plate on it so you should be OK but they aren't exactly consistant between offices.
You dont need the engine /box even
You will get it with the running gear
How do you thinlk the BECists get age rekated?
Isn't it 3 major component so you have the brakes, transmission (diff etc) why arent you using the steering rack ? that would be the 3rd
column and all switch gear could be my third i guess.
Im tempted just to say that the gearbox was originally from the sierra as well.
