I had a customer come in the other day. He used to be a regular but decided to give up driving at 80 because he didn't feel safe any more. He was
a regular because he wore his clutch out every 500 miles so it probably was time to give up!
So he can get around he's got one of the little electric buggy things. His first was 4wheeled but no he's got new one thats essentialy a 3
wheeler with 2 stabaliser casters on the front corner to stop it tipping.
The reason he was in was to get me to fix his tax disc to it. Apparently it has to be taxed as it has 5 wheels. The disc even had a "Q"
plate number on it. He said he just went to DVLA and they issued the disc FOC and he knew nothing of the number.
adrian
taxed because it has 5 wheels? but the 4 wheel one was ok? sounds strange, but if it was free, then can't be too bad
I dont understand the logic...
A person is getting to old and frail to drive a car safely.... so lets give them an electrically propelled plough so they can cause maximum pain and
annoyance either driving down the road at 3MPH... or ramming you into the pic n Mix as they speed towarsds the denture glue!
Need a provisional license (Minimum) to drive one as well....
As far as I am aware you do not require any form of licence to drive a "shopping trolley". The Government/DVLA/VOSA whoever decided some time ago that all "shopping trolleys" should be licenced, and free tax disc's would be issued, now if that doesn't sound like a lead in to having to pay for use, just another stealth tax on the way. Grrrrr! Cheers Ray
