If the dash board has to be radiused on its bottom edge, how far under does it have to go, and does the area above where your knees are have to be covered in for IVA? Is fabric covering ok or should it be solid? Thanks
My dash was radiused 19mm to meet SVA requirements but I was picked up on the location of some relays on the passenger side (a bit too low). I
velcroed a piece of carpet tile from the underside of the dashboard to the back of the scuttle.
Worked a treat and easy to take off later.

Steve
I covered mine (SVAed), for aesthetics, more than anything but it stops them poking around at the wiring.. There was an SVA diagram showing the area
behind the dash that needs to meet the radius requirement, most of it should be higher than the dash edge and hence exempt.

I got some chicken wire and moulded a shape that can slip in and out easily. Covered with some thin foam and the same fabric as the dash, looked quite
smart for something tempory
Just to add the cover goes from the steering column to right over the passengers legs to the side of the scuttle. if you looked under the dash you couldn't see behind it
I used some off cuts of a bath panel I had kicking around. I bent nicely with a bit of warming. It covers my wiring and keeps the sphere of doom away
from any sharp bits. Its still not fallen off post SVA!

fitted some cheap carpet with velcro.
He had a look under carpet, but didn't check for sharp edges.

you may not have to do too much. the regs state that anything 150mm above the base of the seat is tested with the 160mm sphere and everything below
is tested with the 100mm sphere.
as i noticed on my iva a 16cm sphere is pretty hard to get up there to poke about with. if your electrics are tidy and there are no silly sharp
bits up there then you should be ok.
what i will say is if you go down the road of covering it all up do a proper job as if it looks temporary they can now fail you for it as i found out
with my heat shrink and rubber gaiters stretched over my suspension.
Some nice ideas there, thanks
Carpet here... still on there. Cant see it, unless you look under. SVA guy was suitably happy.
