Guys a solution for the side repeater IVA issue.
May be wrong but i thought they had to be on the out most part of the car
ie edge of the front wing for IVA

Not sure what it is, but dont side repeaters need the relevant markings?
Needs the correct e-markings, as someone failed recently on this.

not enough side visibility im afraid.
i've bought a set of them and am hoping they'll do as side repeaters - although i was going to fit them on the outside of the front wing at
the back.
They don't have to have an 'e' mark if they are made to similar standards.
(so its a bit of hope really).
passed iva with these, not e marked.

I spoke to VOSA about this and the rule is the repeaters have to be visible from the rear of the car between 5 degrees and 60 degrees. There is no
rule for repeaters related to the "edge" of the car and in terms of e markings the rules don't state but the feedback on here does seem
to suggest its a bit gray?!
The IVA manual is in Section 20 on lighting.
I think the lights above should be ok as long as you can see them from the rear. IMHO.
Details of them please would be helpful.

there is no specific place they have to go they just need to be visible from all the angles required set out in the manual.
section 20 fig 1 to fig 3 show the angles.
if you get the side repeaters up as high as possible on the scuttle (a smidge higher than the rear arches), rather than putting them on the side panel
then you should be ok.
those leds dont look like they have a 2.5mm radius so trying to prevent a fail may pick you up another reason for a fail.
also as they are facing the rear of the car they are certainly not side repeaters.
not trying to be horrible just trying to look at it like an examiner would.
btw it was me that failed on my "e-markings"
well actually i didnt fail on the emarks. it was the light that failed.
they were led side markers that they use down the side of lorries all the emark did was prove that they were not proper indicators. the emark on them
was E11 SM2
which means
capital E certified to a european Regulation 11 certified in england
SM2 = side marker lamp.

The indicators are below the front wing, so I assume they will also be below the rear wing and fail visibility.

mine were on the side of the car, and with the 5degree rule were not visible because the rear arch was in the way.
He measure 250mm out from body work or there abouts then walked behind car. crouched down and couldn't seen them.
He said either fit them on front arch or on wing mirror, but then you have to make sure about front visibility as then they would fail on front
visibility.
From the rear 5 and 60 degrees as shown they also have to be seen 5 degrees below the horizontal line and 15 degrees above the horizontal line.
I failed IVA on that.

yes , i think they would pass if visible as shown
