Morning lads and ladettes,
Are there any test stations in the midlands I should avoid or any that were particularly helpful?
I live south of Derby but ideally I'd like to avoid Nottingham.
I think Shrewsbury has a good reputation...
thanks steve,
has anyone been to the derby/birmingham one?

Just out of interest why do you want to avoid Nottingham? I've only heard good things about the lads down there??
theres something on my car which they specifically look for and prohibit - I'm hoping to get a centre which will be more lenient in this area.
its not safety related and I'm not trying to dodge anything. The particular passage in the manual is open to interpretation and I know others
have passed doing the same thing as me.
Another vote for Shrewsbury. The tester is extremely fair and helpful. There were a couple of items on my car which could of been failed depending
on how you interpret the text but he did it to the letter of the manual and if the text allowed leniancy he passed it.
Example there was a radius on the facia of the dash which was just under 2.5mm but he stated that the manual didn't say anything about the gear
lever position so he put into 3rd gear for the test which didn't allow the sphere in and therefore couldn't test that particular edge.
