Illuminated dials?

Is it an SVA requirement to be able to see your dials in the dark? If so, how have people managed this? Mount a big light to the dash?!

Cheers,

Pete

As a minimum you'll have to illuminate your speedo.
Most car and bike dials have built-in lights anyway - what are you planning to use?

im going to put a pair of number plate lights behind the wheel to illuminate the dash, then i will hopefully get away with having labels beside the warning lights.

I'm going to use CAI Telemetrix dials, I've only seen pictures of them so I'm not sure if they're illuminated, anyone know for sure?

That's what I've got - they're fitted with little push-in 12v bulbs.

No worries, then!

We lit a bike speedo by shining a sierra number plate light at it from on top of the steering column and it passed about 4 years ago.

Labelling the warning lights doesnt work. SVC do the correctly symbolled brake warning light only a couple of quid.

One of my failures was the brake light, even though all the lights were labelled clearly
