is there anything to do with the windscreen/wiper/washer setup that IVA is failing people on or being particularly strict on?

I'd have thought radiuses were probably the main problem.

Keep us updated with what you do. I've SVA'd already but others sometimes want to IVA with the screen already on.

(kinda wish I had as I was motivated, had facilities and had money at the time of the test- got bugger all now 3 years later!)

They are keen to ensure that the windscreen has the correct markings on it. Also they block the washer jet with a finger to make sure the pipes don't blow off when the washer pump is operated.

Cheers, turns out Im not using the windscreen, its got the old markings on it so wouldnt pass. will bear it in mind for the next one!

They didn't block my washers on IVA. Probably because I've got two twin-jet squirters. That's a lot of fingers!

The thing they did check was the wiper rate on both settings.

If I was doing my SVA/IVA again, I'd fit all the windscreen bits & pieces as the car was assembled, then remove them all and neatly plug all the holes prior to the test.

I found it a real nightmare trying to fit the screen and all its trimmings on a finished car...
