If I read the IVA manual correctly then if you have a nearside mirror you dont need an interior mirror, is that correct?

no, you need an interior one according to the tester in llantrisant.

Only when it offers absolutely NO rearward vision can you get away without it. As in, a van with a solid panel behind you. Obstructions such as your engine (midi bec), cage, seats etc don't count
