Hello,
i am in Belgium.
I have an XTR2 that was SVA and registered in UK, thenn permanently exported to Belgium.
Now, it really seems that i won't be allow to register the car in Belgium.
So, i may have the car registered in UK by a friend and keep it in Belgium for my use.
What would i have to do import the car back in UK and register it again.?
Gerardo
Not sure about importing into the UK, but I think within the EU, you're only allowed to keep and drive a foreign registered car on foreign plates
for a maximum of 6 months, before having to register it where you live - not sure about car tax in Belgium, but over here it's seen as tax
avoidance if you're driving a car on foreign plates for more than 6 months. It obviously depends on getting stopped, but I'd imagine if you
can't register an xtr2 over there, you're quite likely to get stopped in it as well....
cheers
Vince
The peterborough kit car club had a road trip last year to belgium to meet some fellow locosters who hade the cars registered in the uk but use them in belgium i cant help with any contact details for the belgium boys to help you but if locor1 is reading this he may have some details???
the belgium guys are on the "peterborough kit car club" face book page, it might be worth joining to have a chat with them
