PUt a few pics of the SVA rubbering up in my archive,thought i'd get these in before i rip it apart and refill the seats again.

Just to ask a silly question.. why did you have to remove the foam from the seats for the SVA ?

I had to reduce the height of the seat pad to achieve the minimum distance between top harness points and seat base

Which to be honest is a bit anal as when i sit in the seat the foam compresses and i'm at the desired height,still you do what you have to do.

to be honest all they really need to do is make sure it steers stops and all the lights work,as the inspector said i can change it all after the test

hi bob. it looks like your top front ball joint has had the thread and lock nut covered by rubber held on by tape. Did he mind the tape? this is how i would like to do it, but in the past people have said that tape isnt perminant enough to count.

Not sure I need one of them (yet) but it's always nice to know...

You can get self amalgamating (sp?) tape from most electrical wholesalers, not 100% sure its ok for sva but once its gone off you have to cut through it to remove it

the top B/J was a bit of a debate,i managed to swing it by asking tester to remove it and he couldnt without cutting it to shreds.You would have to cut a cable tie to remove a gator so no difference.
Lots of very sticky tape wrapped around an old bicycle innertube.

I got the rubber thingy on shocks from martini car parts at stoneliegh £1.00.
It was plenty long enough for both sides.
