just woundering when and how can you apply for a vin number,what forms do i need and who do i need to contact.i am at the rolling chassis stage of my build.what documentation do i need.any help will be greatfully accepted

I contacted DVLA Swansea asking about this. Was told to send a letter to local DVLA Office (Northampton) requesting VIN for my Kit car. You need to include details of what you're building along with your name and address and tel no.
Swansea actually gave me a direct Fax no. to send it to as well but I sent by Fax & Post to be sure.
I received a VIN within a couple of weeks.
