My Locost is approaching it first MOT, this i know.
I have always taxed it on line due to problems reported by others, expires on 31/05/2011.
on the Log Book it states, (exactly ).
B Date of first registraction 25 04 2008
(B.1 ) Date of First registration in the UK 10 06 2008.
The donar was a sierra safire, so got age related plate.
I plan to be away driving it on 27/04/ on the Southern Kit Car tour to Stonleigh and do not want to lose two months MOT doing it early, but when
exactly is it due ?
Rich.
First reg in the uk date is the important one, usually the other date is the reg date of the donor so not sure how yours is that date but I wouldnt
worry and use the the uk one.
Cheers
Rich
you can check the MOT due date on the DVLA website
I think regardless of the date, i'd look to be preparing the car now and have it MoT'd before the start of your spring use. Its nearly 3
years since a professional inspection so for the sake of a couple of months, i'd be inclined to get it sorted before you want to use it properly.
Last thing you want is a failed MoT in June when you really want to be using the car rather than messing with it to pass an MoT.
IMHO of course. Every MoT ongoing then will be at the start of the kit car driving season. Surely no bad thing??
1 month before it's due less 1 day will get you 13 months Mot

Cheers gents thanks for your reponses and views.
I have just had a look on the DVLA website and they have first reg is start of June, but no referance to when first due MOT unless they call it
something fancy, but will give thought to getting it a check over by a pro before hand, now have to decide how early to give time for any repairs,
hopefully as i know every nut and bolt of it not a lot.
Richard.
Take it in a month early and if it passes they will pre-date it to your first registered date and if it fails on anything you have a month to sort it out while still using the car. Don't over think it, you should have an idea if anything is so wrong with it. Your MOT is due 3 years to the calendar date from first registration which you already know.
