Is a tell-tale light required for low-beam (MOT and C&U purposes only).
Cheers
Main beam warning light is required and in the nor far off future its operation is likely to become part of the MOT test.
no mate, im an mot tester and you dont need a low beam warning light only main beam. and its not coming into the test soon.
i fitted a side light tell tale for the IVA.
Reason:-
Because i have a digi dash fitted that illuminates with the ignition.
If you have traditional style guages that back light when the lights
are turned on it's not necessary, due to the gauge illumination
being acceptable as a warning light.
HTH,
Nick.
Perfect! Thanks guys!
You don't need a tell tale with them as it's not an offence to ride round with them lit all the time even in bright sunlight, nothing to do
with the dash lights. Bikes have them coming on with the ignition for visibility reasons and cars have daylight running lights for the same. You
don't see dash lights in daylight so they would not act as a tell tale if dip is on.

How is it pointless? It's cleared up a question that is probably on more than one user's mind
