Locost friendly mot map sticky?
RichardK - 10/7/11 at 08:55 AM

Just wanting to gather thoughts about what others think about a map (like the member map) or list of MOT garages that understand the kit car / locost thing and genuinely want to pass the car or suggest helpful ways of resolving any failure points. The one I'd recommend is Roundwood Garage

Just an idea...

Cheers

Rich

Hi Rich

Ever tried "Norman's Garage" in Starbeck, he's a really nice guy who, in my opinion, is an old fashioned mechanic, even though he is quite young, runs the garage with his dad. He is really helpful and just doesn't fail things cos he feels like it. Even let me use his 10T press to press in some wheel bearings.

Nah, haven't but sounds like one that should be on a map!

Good idea.

I have one to add (Station Garage, Capel St Mary, Suffolk). Happy (very!) to do kit cars, trikes & bikes as well as normal vehicles. Downside is that he may want to talk about your car for ages!

Chatfields of Sheffield, Orgreave industrial estate. I work and test there. all 4 testers are familiar with kits,TVR's and all sorts of classics. aswell as vans and motorhomes. and we test from 7am to 7pm and Saturday 7 till 12.

Down south, I'd recommend Btec racing in Shipping Norton, they do my mapping and MOT's (makes it hard for them to fail on emissions )
