Ok..

looking to fit my Facet Fuel Pump...

Now seeing as I made my own 'book' fuel tank out of mild steel...

Is there any reason why I can't weld 2 bolts to the 'empty' fuel tank ?

Then bolt the facet pump directly to the tank and add an earth wire ?

I think you'll find that annoyingly noisy.

The pump should be rubber mounted on the chassis, but, if you welded a mounting plate to the tank and then mounted the pump on rubbers to that.....

This thing when running is quite loud..
I'm only fitting an aero screen so I will be wind swept or helmet bound ...
I figure with fuel in the tank & the tank on metal straps with rubber lining it may be ok..
Just can't see a problem - makes life easyer & access to the pump filter too..

Why ask the question if your going to ignore the advise?

It'll rattle like hell and if you dont hear it while driving you'll hear it at tickover.
