DVLA build inspection form query

Hi, I've just been looking at DVLA's form V627/1 - Build up inspection...

I’m using a single donor and a second hand zetec engine sourced separately from the donor. Regarding this form, I was going to fill it in as per the example shown on here near the end of the page.

I can complete all of the form no problem but I’m a bit stuck with what to put on the form where it asks for the "Origin" of the engine as it didn’t come from the donor, it isn’t new or reconditioned and I don’t know the registration number of the vehicle it originally came from. Can I just leave this blank as I can still provide info for the engine number, put “ford” for the make and put “yes” under receipt?

I’m fairly confident I’ve used enough from my donor to qualify for an age related plate which is what I’d like.

Also, the engine was sourced from ebay and I have a paypal receipt. In addition to this, I also have a printed A4 receipt from the seller when I collected the engine and this has the engine number, sellers name and address although it doesn’t have his signature. Should either or both of these receipts be enough to satisfy the DVLA?

(I've not passed IVA yet, just thinking ahead a little!)

Thanks,

Lee

Yes, I think that's correct.

Good to get it all sorted beforehand cos as soon as you pass IVA that IAC will be burning a hole in your pocket and you'll want to get the car on the road!

why not just register that you put the engine in the donor car, then you are using the 'donor engine' ?

You used to be able to do that but now I think they now want evidence that the engine was actually in the donor (in the form of a photo?).

Isn't your engines "origin" e-bay?

You might be able to work out the original donor for the engine - write to - FORD TECHNICAL INFORMATION CENTRE, PO BOX 300, WALSALL WS5 4QH

I did wonder that, wasn't sure if the DVLA would accept this though. Erring towards leaving this part blank and, if the DVLA question it, put "1994 Mondeo" or similar.

cheers,
Lee
