Donor registration

Ok so I am taking diff and gearbox from sierra, along with brake discs, uprights, steering rack.

p.s. How closely do they check that the parts used are from the sierra?

Will I be able to use the number plate from the sierra or will they allocate me a new one? The Sierra one is quite cool.

No you cant use the sierra one, they will allocate a new one with the same prefix.

You could pay to transfer the plate to a retention certificate and then transfer it to the kit once its complete, but i think the donot needs to have a current MoT to do this.

They wont check too hard, but its worth taking lots of photos of you dismantling the donor, just in case they ask some questions.

Some people worry that thaey dont have photographic evidence of stripping parts from their donor car. However many find that if they look very carefully on their computer, whilst the forum happens to be open at a photo archive page, they will suddenly find the photos they had forgotten they had taken.
