I have an old sierra dashboard it uses the same light but with 2 symbols for brake warnings.
On my Escort bits - i have a red light switch which when pressed shows circuit working for low brake fluid.
If I wire my 'handbrake on' warning switch to it - surely it will be same as Sierra?
Or do you think IVA will fail it?

Handbrake warnig isn't an IVA requirement. Wiring the handbrake light to the same warning light as the low fluid is just an easy way of having a method tocheck the low fluid level bulb, so saving the need for an additional switch and is IVA compliant. The Escort switch you show would fail IVA as it doesn't have the correct symbol (no exclamation mark).

Agreed, as far as I gather reading 'the manual' the requirement is a method of testing the brake fluid warning system from inside the cockpit. Mine is wired to the Sierra handbrake switch so applying the handbrake illuminates the warning lamp and so checks it's functionality.

Yep..manual says no 'tell tale' required for handbrake!

I will etch the missing exclamation mark on the resovoir check switch and so all good

The stupid thing is the handbrake operating the warning light does not test whether the low fluid level detactor switch works and that's arguably quite important.
