got my chassis stamped but what needs to be on the vin plate ? read on the iva manual something about axle weights does this apply to kit cars, also does it need to be a certain plate ie with manufacturers name on or will a blank plate do ?

Chassis plate needs to have the name on the manufacturer on it and the VIN number. (Your name if you made the car!) I bought mine from Luego (£25) and stamped my VIN and engine number on it.

You do not need to put the weights on. (Or the engine number - as I am on my second engine, it shows what a bad idea it was!)
As always, read the relevant section of the manual!

thanks the chassis was made by martin (mk engineering ) so il give him a ring

I just stamped manufacturer and VIN onto a plain piece of aly plate and riveted it onto the chassis.

ordered one of these ...only a tenner
