Had a nice day out to Beverley on the 25th. 5am start!! I didn't khow there was another 5 o'clock.
I found the test process nerve wracking at first but once I'd bonded with my tester I actually started to enjoy it.
As expected he found things that I hadn't considered and the bits I was concerned about sailed through. Isn't life odd?
Anyway failed miserably on emmissions. The car had been running very rich and hunting a bit but I had just run out of time after spending two days on
the speedo. I found when I got the car home that the Lambda sensor wasn't outputting any voltage I put in a spare second hand one and there is a
vast improvement but the low speed idle is still failing I have ordered a new one as I'm thinking that maybe the sensor heater is not working.
Failed on rear cycle wings not low enough - school boy error but some mug flaps which I intended to fit post IVA will sort that.
Failed on rear number plate space - just need to raise the plate up 10mm. I thought that it was OK but he was a foot shorter than me.
That was it so I guess not too bad.
Only problem now is because of holidays - mine and theirs I won't be back for the re- test until early September. Just in time for winter!
Well done mate. Very easy things to cure IMHO.
Good-luck on the re-test !
