Hi all

My donor car has been sorned for the past three years while I plodded through my build. When I registered the kit a few weeks ago the DVLA took the donor V5 from me and I just presumed they would deal with it. However this mornin I received a tax/sorn reminder notice. Do I need to notify the DVLA that the car is scrapped or will they sort it? I haven't received the v5 for the kit as yet btw.

Well knowing what a bunch of t****rs the DVLA are, I would contact them and let them know the car has been scrapped, and to check there records, otherwise you could well find yourself getting a letter saying "you owe us". HTH Ray

In the letter put....
Vehicle used as donor for kit car
Vehicle V5 handed to ***** DVLA office on **/**/2012
Awaiting allocation of registration number and new V5 for kit car

Date it, copy it, send it recorded, ask for written response.
