Applying to register my car - what do I need to take?

After my MSVA on Monday, I need to register it for the road. I'm free tomorrow afternoon so I'll go over to the local DVLA office to get the forms, fill them in and submit them. I don't want to make 2 trips or send stuff in by post so I want to go prepared. What do I need to take with me?

MAC
V627/1 built up inspection report
driving licence (to prove I'm me)
utility bill (proof of address)
receipts for donor vehicle and some other parts

Build photos?
Photo of VIN and Engine Number?
Donor Vehicle V5?

All experience welcome!

Take everything you have, I took all the paperworks, receipts etc, they didn't need it all but is good if they ask for specific things.

As above but you will also need certificate of motor insurance if you want a tax disk. They will retain the doner V5 but you may want to take the original doner VIN plate as well.

Damn. I didn't think of that one and I'm going to the DVLA on the way home from work. Can I apply for the tax disc later, at a post office or something?

That said, I imagine they'll want to "inspect" the vehicle first anyway.

I assume you would be able to get it at the post office but it might all become a bit of a chew as there will be a point where your vehicle should technically be SORN and, while my experience of DVLA has been OK, I suspect something quite unusual like that may result in all sorts of glitches. Get some advice from DVLA when you are in the office.

The DVLA local office looked through my application and sent me away with a request for the plans for the chassis. When I asked for more details, they came back with the word "blueprints". Has anyone been asked for this before? What kind of detail might they be looking for?
