How do

I am running the k6 1000 engine. I am planning to modify the mk backbox to incorparate a cat for the iva. Seen a few different ones on ebay but not sure what to get. Has anyone else bought one?

Cheers
Rog

You need to get the cat as near to the engine as possible so that it can reach its operating temperature. I have heard of the intergrated back box ones not working properly as they don't get hot enough. Just my thoughts.

Not sure what diameter your exhaust is. I am running duel 2" exhausts and managed to get 2 of these fram Ramair for £25 each!

I am going to install them as near the collector as possible to get the most heat into them.

For that sort of money I thought they were worth a shot.

Thats a good point, maybe knock up a link pipe with the cat built in and get it up against the collector section, cheers for that

Cheers for that link RB, i have put it on my ebay watch list. Going to check it out now.

Hi
This lot got us through the IVA
cat from USA, bike can with decibel killer 90 degree
elbow & a Chrome exhaust trim with a rolled end.
97 Db maybe not the prettiest but a hell of a lot cheaper.

I disagree, I think these fluted external cats look quite smart. Apart from integrating them (which as stated above can leave to (lack of ) temp issues) i think its the best looking route.

Good price on the CAT got mine from the states and the shipping/duty/PO collection fees killed it.
Where did you get your silencers from guys.
Cheers,
Bob

Got mine from eBay, ZX12R titanium silencer for about £30, nice deep note and not loud.

Mine is a universal silencer £43.50 from exhaust-uk on eBay. eBay Item

I had a 90 degree bend tig welded onto it.
