Having struggled to get my brake hoses such that they didn't hit the wishbone, I decided to take the plunge and make some new longer hoses. Tried
one side last night and now my hoses no longer hit the wishbone, but at full droop, full lock, they are about an inch from the wishbone and an inch
from the tyre.
I am thinking of taking an inch off the hoses as when they get some weight on the wheels I suspect they will get closer again to the tyre.
Should the hoses be a certain distance from the tyre - or is it a case that as long as they clear Mr IVA will be happy?
Cheers

I IVAed my car 2 weeks ago and this very point came up as one of my hoses touched on full lock. So we twisted the fitting at the caliper untill it cleared the wheel by about 5mm and he was happy. If you moved the hose to the wheel it springed back away, so it naturally wanted to be away from the wheel, if that makes sense.
Thanks Monkeyarms - sound exactly like mine.
Cheers

I had exactly the same last week. Fortunately just half a turn on the mounting was enough to angle the hose away from the tyre on full lock and get a pass. I couldnt argue as the retest was free.
