IVA insurance
sprouts-car - 26/6/13 at 02:28 PM

Afternoon all,

I'm looking for 1 day insurance for driving to IVA and back?
Any recommendations?

I've tried Adrian Flux already (as I always hear they are good with kitcars) but they wont do one day unless I already have a policy with them.

Who else can I try?

Thanks
C

First think I see on the web site. "Ages from 30"

Is that for everything?

Why do you want one day? Don't see anyone doing one day on vin.

Why one day? If you fail you will need another day! You need insurance to register it, so why not insure it for the year?

Don't tell them you only want a day?
When you pass, keep it. If you dont, cancel it

Problem is, if you cancel kit car insurance you don't get any sort of refund

Frank Pickles won't give you cover for getting too and from the IVA as it creates quite a bit of admin work/issues when converting the insurance from the chassis number to the registration number, complicated by the cover needed to be extended if the car fails the IVA and needs a retest. However they will issue a cover note for the purpose of registering the car which will then be converted to a full certificate once the registraton is sorted, usually a week or so cover. A small inconvenience to pay for whay is a good company that provides an otherwise excellent service
