Hi All.
I am swapping engines on my Westfield, presume I need to let he DVLA know and get the V5 changed ? It is a like for like swap so no spec change.

You should let them know of the engine number change but I'm sure many people wouldn't bother if it's just like for like
Thats what I was thinking, but some one has told me that if there was an insurance claim , its likely that the insurance company would not pay up if the engine number did not match what was on the V5. Any body any thoughts or experience of this ?
well why not just do it, it's not going to cost you anything!

My 7 had had so many crossflow engines, they would do me for wasting there time, altering the paperwork on a monthly basis !
Now, all my engines have the same no
When the the insurence assessor came to my kit one of the first things he checked was engine number. It's no hassle to change it do it.
Thanks for the replies. Sounds like a good idea to get it done, I did not realise it was easy to do and no cost.

My experience of changing engine numbers involved a bit of paperwork.
Engine number or cylinder capacity (cc)
You’ll need to provide either:a receipt for the replacement enginewritten evidence from the manufactureran inspection report provided for insurance
purposeswritten confirmation on headed paper from a garage (if the change took place before you bought the vehicle)
