Hi everyone - i have purchased a part finished locost car which i plan to complete and then go for a IVA test and i was wondering how i would go on
with the IVA application with ref to the receipts and photos of the build i have a few but do i have enough is my concern??
Thanks
Mark
Hi mate,
I had the same thing, bought the car as a rolling chassis.
Took LOADS of photos while i was completing though and just submitted all of it on a CD when i applied.
Had no questions at all about the photos, but was lucky enough to have receipts for the original chassis and body kit.
Hope this helps a bit!
If your no good with a computer find someone that is, pretty easy I would think to make up some invoices
Where you based, i have a load of pics

I have some pics and receipt's but do i have enough is the million dollar question....this must be a common problem as many of them must be sold before they are finished!

same as you, i sent about 4 photos and only one of me in it. Send the self build declaration, send plenty of receipts, i don't really think they are too bothered. There only trying to stop companies from doing it. Dont panic matron

Same here. I think I sent 6, and again only one had me in it, and I've no idea if they actually looked at any of them. Then I just had recipts for the chassis.
I took them with me but I can only remember him asking to see my engine date letter from ford and copying it. Nah my pic has me leaning over it, not clear not detailed, none of them were.
I sent a CD full of photo's, none with me on them. I sealed the CD in a CD envelope, it was returned unopened.
Think I just had one of the chassis, one of me removing the engine from the donor, one of chassis+engine, one on its wheels, and a couple of it
finished.
I don't think the IVA inspector sees any of that, it's all dealt with at head office.
Well I feel much happier now thanks everyone I was wondering if it was going to have to be a track toy only but it would be great to take it out on a
day like today :-)
I will keep you all posted on how things go ;-)
I do have a few more questions!!!
1: do i send my DVLA paperwork before or after my IVA
2: is a standard Ford steering lock go enough or do I need a immobilizer
3: what classification do I claim for the IVA if I remember correctly M1 or something close to that was the one I thought was the correct one
Cheers
Mark
1 paper work to Vosa for a test date
Paper work after iva to dvla as you need the pass certificate.
2. Steering lock was fine for me in June.
3. It's m1. £450 for the test
