what would the IVA man say to the battery being in the passenger foot well up against the engine firewall?
its only a small race battery so wouldnt take up much space, would i need to put a cover over it? or could i just cover the terminals?
i just think putting it in the footwell would help keep the engine bay tidy.
I would cover it to be safe.
That's where mine is, but I sealed it with an ally panel.
Description
I put mine down the side of the passenger footwell where all the electrics go through to the engine. The bit holding the battery is the outside of
stainless deep fryer held on with threaded inserts.
After this (sorry no pic) I just bent a bit of ally to cover the whole lot and attached it with velcro. SVA man poked it and asked if it comes off, I
removed it and he nodded his head at what you see above.
Engine
this is mine it gives passengers more foot room on long rides
Mine started in the footwell with a panel.
The panel lasted as long as it took me to have my first flat battery (about a week- damn headlights!) when it got ripped out to get to the battery in
a hurry.
Later, I moved it up on top of the firewall for better access. Low centre of gravity sacrificed for better access and footwell space!
