hi what are you paying in road tax for your kit car. DVLA have told me £240 for a 1800 cc kit car.??
same, although I only buy 6m at a time
For me it works out as about a pound a mile some years.
That's correct. Kit cars are based on the old capacity rules of upto 1549cc and above 1549cc

I pay mine monthly by direct debit - I don't think there's any additional cost (or if there is, it's very small). It makes paying it a
little less painful.
Note: I think I pay about £5 or £6 extra p.a., which I can live with.

Though thats your fault, not the tax mans. Think mine's under 4p/mile.
car man, Were you thinking that was high, low or just that you didn't know what it should be?
SJ, I was just implying that you need to use it more.

£245 for a 1992 2.0 DOHC 8v for 12 months
If you registered a kit now with a new registration would you be on the old capacity based Tax or the flat £140 for sub £40K normal cars?

Gov says it should be £150 for a sub 1549cc engine on the pre-2001.
