Hi Everyone
For the last few years I have been building a mk2 escort based locost roadster.
I am nearly finished and think i am ready for IVA but I need a casting eye and a little help with the paperwork.
Can any one help ?
I live in Shotgate Wickford Essex
I would love to grab 15 minutes of someones time over a coffee to cast their eye over the car for some
criticism and some pointers in the right direction.
I have not posted any photos as i am not sure how?
The donor car ( Mk 2 escort ) is on a sorn however the car does not exist, and i do not have a scrap cert, so i am not sure what to do here.
I really want to get the car registered on an age related plate, but i am not sure i have enough evidence or paperwork.
I think it has taken so long to build as i have been putting off the finish date because quite frankly the IVA process has become to daunting, a
mental monster if you will!
That said i am not a quitter and need to see this through with a little help!!??
Many many thanks
Hi Micky?
I'm just up the road in Benfleet, as you'll see from my Avatar, my car is not sevenesque, however I do have experience of a no. of
IVA's, happy to pop over & give the car a look over & have a chat at sometime if you want
I would also suggest join Essex Kitcar Club (I'm the chairman, so ought to declare a vested interest!), we have a once a month meet up at
D's Diner, Hatfield Peverel - last Sunday of the month, so unfortunately you've just missed one, plus, obviously many attendances at various
car shows throughout the spring, summer & autumn months. We have a wide range of cars in the club, but certainly includes a no. of 7's &
I could send you a copy of an article we had in our newsletter some years back with the experience of one of our members scratchbuilt locosts
thro' IVA at Norwich
Posting pics is fairly simple, open "Photo Archive" tab & just copy your pics one at a time into a folder there, when you want to
display a pic click on it & copy the "forum code" which comes up in the box top left then when writing the post click on the image box
at top of post & paste the forum code in the box that comes up, when you hit "Preview Post" you should see your pic which will enlarge
when clicked on, keep pics under 2mb or they won't load
The paperwork is fairly straightforward & I would recommend getting in sooner rather than later particularly if running an older engine as
emission requirements may be changing
If you have V5 of the donor & have not declared it as scrapped then you should get an age related plate
Regards Russ
if you want to email me some pics i'll upload them for you.
putting them on here is great as you'll have lots of eyes with lots of IVA experience.
i'll send you my email in u2u message
PAUL
this guy helped me with my dvla issues.
not sure if he is still doing it but he was ex dvla and used to fill in the paperwork for you if you wanted

Hi tims31
I do have the vin and v5 and plenty of photos I think but how many photos should I send?
Hi Russ
I would love to take you up on that offer of popping over to have a look at the car, I have every intention of joining the club
I just wanted to get the car on the road, a bit of a catch 22 I want a car to join a club but don't have a car to join?
When would be possible for you ? The sooner the better for me.
