Been away for a while so have missed a fair bit so this will have been covered before I expect.
Do I have to fit a collapsible steering boss if I have a Sierra steering column which is it’s self collapsible?
No, dont think you do have to.
As long as the column can collapse thats all thats required. The sierra column is collapsable btw

In that case there is at least one steering boss which will accept a Montery (can't remember how to spell it) steering wheel left in the shop where I bought mine from. It cost me £10. The only mod which will have to be done is fit an imobiliser as there are no notches for the steering lock.
I have the same problem with my cheap boss (the one on the steering wheel and the one I work for!). I am going to use the std sierra wheel (another
one as I cut up the old one to see if the original boss would be reuseable). You can get a much more expensive boss from Halfords, but the inner is
exactly the same - the teeth are just not big enough for the steering lock pawl to engage

Hi
If its a mountney classic you can use a astrali hub, there quite cheap, collapsable and have the grouves for the steering lock
Dont forget the centre horn push has to be padded
Adrian
I did try to buy an astrali boss online, but could not find anyone selling one
Hi Mark
I got mine from here

Just checked you have to click on hub kits, mountney traditional, £29.95

My car failed not having a collapsible boss. I had a collapsible steering column an offset.
Used an Astralli one to pass £15
Where did you get it from? You are fairly close!
The Gearbox, Exeter.
I will have to pop in next time I see the kids at uni (Bristol & Taunton) unless you are doing anything to Marazion school again soon
The boss I have just bought is an Astralli but it didn't look like it would collapse too far, maybe a couple of inches or so. I am quite sure that it didn't have a steering lock facility. I will have a look tonight.
Mark we have finish Marazion, nearest jobs are now in Falmouth.
