bias bar sticker location
craigdiver - 2/6/18 at 09:43 AM

my pedalbox bias bar is locked with nylocks. What is the best location for the ‘do not adjust....’ sticker?

With that layout behind pedals or on side foot well. Its a tickbox item, nothing more.

My sticker is positioned under the bonnet next to the brake fluid reservoirs.

Will nylocs pass iva? Thought it had to be drilled also so you can not adjust with tools?

Just asking as I'm at that point also.

Many thanks
Ian

was under the impression that nylocs were fine, don’t really fancy having to drill and wire it :-(

Just searched ‘bias lock’ on here and the top result ‘wire locking’ (or something similar) had a post from February this year;

I didn't lock mine I just had a sticker bough t from CBS https://www.carbuildersolutions.com/uk/iva-brake-bias-sticker-balance this was accepted by Norwich.

I would put the bias adjustment sticker in the pedal area, but you also need a brake fluid type one near the filler.

but looking at the pictures,

I don't think most of the nylocks will show sufficient thread showing after they are tightened, - maybe remove the washers.

and I think they way you have the nuts on the swing bar will lock it up, and stop it from 'balancing' the two cylinders.

That is the nylocs on the swingbar, there are at least 2 full threads showing on the left. My car has sierra drums on the back and when braking hard on the gravel outside my unit the fronts lock up first. Have I not assembled the bias bar right? any photos of how it should be locked up so it doesn’t impede the swinging of the bias bar?

You need a couple of spacer "tubes" between the clevis and lock nut.

yep that sort of thing on the swing bar,

it was the rest of the nylocks (the pedal pivots) that don't look like they will have sufficient threads showing

looked at the installation PDF again - not fantastic but does show this image showing a locking nut with spacer. All the other nylocs are tight and as supplied by OBP (exept for throttle that I am still working on and needs tightened)

Its very much a tester based interpretation. I would consider calling them before, or taking a drill and lock wire with you.
