Good Evening,
Has anyone ever failed on their chassis lower edge radius? The only way I can think of passing this on my car (square tube chassis) is by putting some
form of edge trim along the lower corner of the chassis.
Interested in knowing peoples solutions.
Cheers,
Josh
Normally the panelling is wrapped round the side of the chassis and riveted from below so you can't even see the chassis
Aaaah but in Locosts there is no normal!
I have riveted my panels to the side of the chassis which means they finish is a tidy 90deg angle at the bottom. Looks great, IVA nightmare.
Caterhams have the same lower edge, and they pass, as have had hundreds of Locosts over the years,
As the lower edge is only 100mm of the ground, I cant really see what can go under one of our cars except rats and kittens
When i IVA'd my MNR, MNR provided an IVA friendly kit which included lengths of wood angle trim to go along the bottom edge of the bodywork. I
mustn't have fastened them on very well as the fell off very soon after the test

Do the edge solutions have to be glued/permanent fitting ? My car has a front splitter with a sharp edge and the wheelarches.
Is that rubberised U channel edge suitable for an iva pass?
Good question! From a lot of reading it seems people get away with super glue.

Nice!
Funny how much falls off after IVA. Just shows how crap Locost builders are!!!!:D
