hi,
i built my own seat out of 1.6mm mild steel with lighten holes.
the idea was flare the holes for give a little more rigidity - as for "bomber seats".
Here is the picture
i know i have to but a protection all around the perimeter of the seat (i'm sorry for my english, i hope it make sense...) for avoid sharp
edges.. but what about flared holes?
it will be ok for IVA? or i have to cover it in some way with foam/vynil?
my "estetical idea" (let's say so...) was to paint it the seat and just put an insert as for single seater cars.
thanks,
David
The back of the seat isn't covered by the IVA, any harness cutouts need to be edged.

remember iva is a minimum standard, then think for yourself.
that seat currently looks like you would be sitting on a cheese grater.
yes dishing the holes would help, but all-sorts of ways to make it safer.
hi, thanks for all the answers! very helpful.
thanks again.

You could get a couple of cheap car seat covers form Halfords etc, and with a bit of foam make the seats look
as though they were covered
