Morning folks!

Does anyone know if the Goodridge range of reusable hydraulic hose fittings are okay for road use? I'm looking at using the 600 series hose with these fittings for the clutch and brake lines on my car (only the bits that need to be flexible, the rest is in Kunifer solid pipe), and I'm a bit concerned about their suitability for road use.

Perhaps I should rephrase that, as I am more concerned about them getting through the SVA test and MOT tests.

Some people have passed with re-usable fittings, others have failed.
Before my SVA I went to the test centre to ask a few questions, and the tester specifically said that they would fail

I was afraid that would be the case! i suppose it is sensible though really. Brake lines are probably the most critical system on the car, so it would be sensible to ensure that they are top quality, and not assmebled by any old bloke in a shed.

Although, it does make it a pain in the ar$e if you have a bit of common sense and can wield a spanner with a bit of background knowledge.

Anyway, cheers for the response. I'm off to hunt down some swaged fittings now!

I believe it's more because some fittings don't reinforce the inside of the tube when the compression fitting clamps down, leading to a bad joint and weakness.
The tester can't see which kind you've fitted, so some choose to reject them all.

I got mine made-to-measure from ThinkAuto, but Merlin do them as well.
