Hazard Rules

I was reading through my SVA manual last night regarding hazard warning which basically says that it must illuminate all the direction indicators at the same time and have a tell tale warning light. If I have 2 seperate switches for my indicators (i.e. one on each side of the wheel, then it i activate both of them, all the indicators will be on......what do you think.....will it pass.

In terms of warning lights, each direction would have a flashing light and with the hazards on both would flash....

Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

Cheers.

IIRC hazards must be operated from a single independent switch and have a red warning light with the correct marking.

The manual does not specifically say you can't do what you want to do, but I very much doubt it would pass.

Look at it as if the car was sold to someone who didn't know it, they wouldn't know how to put the hazards on in an emergency. Use the switches as you suggest but just add a separate hazard switch with a built-in telltale, then you can't go wrong. ( I am using a Peugeot switch)

Join the 2 switches lives with another illuminated one in the middle for the hazards.
