Hi,
Failed my SVA on Friday at Newcastle. Not too bad, just a few small bits and bobs.
Exhaust quite close to a brake pipe
loose indicator wire
No battery or starter terminal covers
wiring behind dash need tidied up
handbrake cable needs crimps
The one thats bothering me is the hand brake. I have secured the ends with allen screwed clamps at the end, this is a fail, I need to have crimped on
ball style ones. Does anyone know who can do this for me in the Edinburgh area?
Have to say a geat guys at newcastle, spent most of the time laughing, usually at my expense. They made it a very relaxed atmosphere, clearly
explaining the process as they went.
Cheers
Steve
Brazing or silver soldering the nipples on the cables should be OK
nothing major then, you'll soon be on the road, nice one!
Good luck for next time - at least you have a check list now

Hi Steve,
I crimped and silver soldered mine, bought a cheap pair of bolt croppers
and filed a round hole in the jaws. For the nipple I used a bit of 8mm bolt.
Took it to work and tested it.
The "guvnor" witnessed the test and signed a test cert that I printed.
I'm hoping this will satisfy SVA.
