Just a quickie, where am I allowed to drive to and from without numberplates or tax when I come to MOT/SVA/Reg time?
Presumably to MOT (but not back from if it were to fail!)
To and from SVA?
To and from DVLA office??
I was advised by my SVA test centre that I had to display an 'Identification number' ie chassis number to and from MOT and SVA tests.
You need to check your insurance. I had to pick my policy carefully as some only insured the car to drive to and from the SVA but not for an MOT
before hand.
So you can drive directly to and from The SVA and MOT .
But not to DVLA - strictly speaking if it is not en route from SVA station!

Our's was roughly the same information.
We chose our insurance carefully IIRC to ensure we could take it to SVA Centre. We did not display any ID. I dont think most people notice there is no
Reg# on as it is so entertaining seeing a Se7en type car! We got loads of cheers and waves!!!
MOT - we used a friendly person's trade plates.
Cheers folks, much less confused now!
I have a trailer so none of it is a real issue, but I will need to bed in the brakes etc before SVA so could do with a bit of a road trip!
Don't know why this country dosen't copy the system used in Denmark where I as understand it joe public can hire trade plates for a couple
of days complete with insurance from the vehicle tax office to allow moving or testing vehicles without infringing the law.
Of course this being the UK the powers that be would levy a totally unreasonable fee for this
