Padded rollbar, needed or not?

I think the header says it all really. I seem to remember that someone failed for not having a padded piece on the rollbar at head height.

I think its probably advisable if you have low backed seats that finish at the top chassis rail. If I was in that position I would want some padding on a steel bar incase the worst happened. As for whether you need it for SVA or not I dont know. Obviously not a problem for those using high back seats...

No padding on mine Mark , no problem with SVA .I have got high back seats , would have thought that seats with a built in head rest would be O.K.

My seats are low back, pads are in progress (midnight oil)
