Brake fluid reservoir hoses again....
bigandy - 24/6/05 at 12:09 PM

Afternoon all.

Apologies for asking this again, but I'm having trouble obtaining some brake fluid hose (flexible) to go between the reservoir and the mastercylinders in my car. I'm after around 1.5metres of the stuff to fit on the plastic reservoir sold by car builder solutions (the swivelling outlet one). I've found several places that will sell it, but none have markings to satisfy the SVA test.

I was wondering if a) anyone knew of a source, and b) does the hose really have to be marked? Can I supply a data sheet to say it meets the relevent standard?

Many thanks in advance!

Andy

I would have thought a datasheet was fine, that's even if they bother checking.

Rih.

Knowing my luck, they will check it though!

has anyone passed SVA with unmarked hose and a datasheet?

Cheers
Andy

I hope it passes with no markings - I bought some from NF Auto/Carbuilder Solutions at the Detling show for that purpose. I asked them specifically about markings and they said it is OK without... I'll be well pissed off if that is not the case

The blue braided hose from Think Automotive is marked with a code which I presume is the spec needed, mine passed SVA with it and the tester did check it .
