Hi guys.
Due to the size/location of my work area, the final assembly of my car will have to be done outside. Once out, I won't be able to get it back
in.. Rather than going to the hassle of renting somewhere to keep it until I pass the SVA and get it registered etc, do you think I could get away
with putting the plates from my other car on it, and parking it on the road outside my house?
Dont bother could get you in lots of bother. Do things legally
surely it would be a lot safer under a car cover in your garden? As mac1zr says, you could get a bit of bother sticking the wrong plates on it. If you
must leave it on the roadside, just leave it with no plates on it. I personally wouldnt dream of putting my locost outside overnight, it gets firmly
blocked in by other cars every night.
Argos do a good cover for £25.
Why bother with plates if it is not registerd as a car yet ?
( what is the legal view on this ? )
My mate put donor plates on to take one for MOT and the MOT station made him take them off. Apparently it is a gaolable offence according to them.
Chain it to the nearest lamp post,
Might stop it being knicked!
