Has anyone used these for their builds to secure brake lines, fuel pipes, wiring looms????

I hope they are Ok for SVA - any comments. Ive used them quite a lot. Once the are pushed in they will not release. I have had to remove some and had
to cut them out. Hellermann are top quality as well - not like some of the easily snapped types.
Think you might find it'll fail on the fact they are not fixed by a screw/rivet.
Tho that could be just the sticky pad fixing type.
Never seen that sort used on kitcars
I used them for everything - no problems
Thanks for the replies. Sounds like they are OK.
Snoopy - i was lucky to get a bag full given. They do fix in very strongly and have the added advantage of spacing the pipes / looms off the chassis
so they dont touch. The only problem i had was that the type i have are for slightly thinner plate so i had to cut a small amount off the back of the
barb to get them to lock in the tubes. Im happy with the strength of the fixing just wanted to know if anyone had SVA experience. Hellermann ties are
very good quality.
Thanks again.
Are ordianry cable ties not good enough for SVA? I was told by someone on here that a loom cable tied to the chassis was OK. Is that not true?
There are some areas where i dont want to put cable tie around chassis (ie where body panels are bonded on). I have also used the mounts where i dont
want the secured item to be in contact with the chassis (brake lines etc).
I have limited cable tying to chassis rails as (IMHO) it doesnt look professional and its not what the OEM's would do.
Not what OEMs do. That'll be because there is a faster and cheaper alternative for mass production. The push in clips that they use are less
secure than cable ties but take a second each to push in.
Don't take everything that a mass market OEM does to be the best way to do it.
