How would using fabric tank straps be deamed on SVA?? Im thinking of using a couple of pieces of seatbelt type material bolted at each end to hold
the tank down.
eg.
Obviously with some foam/rubber wrapped round the tank.
Would this be ok or a deffo fail?
Dont think I would chance it but I'm not sure about any regulations against them .
Think it would fail as the fabric may deteriorate over time.
Pat...
afaik, mkindy7 has a very similar thing, with ladder lock fasteners to tighten it up. i assume it was on for sva, but i could be wrong.

seatbelt material shouldnt deteriorate with time!
What are you 'meant' to use? Im at exactly the same deadlock, and have been all year!
Yup Tom's correct, we've got exactly the same kind of strap and it was on for the SVA and it was never queried.
For our own piece of mind we had the straps sat socking in petrol for a few days with no ill effects.
Dan,
I made some straps from strips of aluminium with self adhesive foam stuck on and arranged them as in your photo, bolted front and back. I believe this
is the preferred method. I have some offcuts if you want to use this method.
Cheers
Jon
