i payed 4k insurance once, and yes i am stupid

£4k?!!! Wtf where you driving, a rocket ship? This is also another reason to drive a classic car. Race/rally preped 1971 mini costs £350. Not bad for a 22 year old with unlimited mileage! Oh, and 0 years ncb being used.

When I was 21, I bought a brand new ZX-7R. First year's insurance was £2,600....
Second Year was £1200
...
Fifth year (25), it was £300
...

Andy, whats the spec of your car?

Interested to know as i will be insuring mine again very soon.

andyharding - 23/4/06 at 09:01 PM

Bog standard Pinto 1.6

Daren't imagine how much it will go up when I tell them about my new 2L big valve Pinto with bike carbs

You can lower your premium quite a lot by upping your excess as much as possible.

Dread to think what mine will cost when its done.. 22yrs old, 2l pinto (aiming for amywhere between 130bhp and 145bhp...)
