Panel Fastening

Can anyone offer suggestions (polite ones only) how to fasten al. side panel so I can access the battery. They need to be SVA compliant, easy to do up, relatively durable and vibration proof. They will fix into 25mm sst top & bottom then 12.5mm each side (i.e.half 25mm). Don't ask why the battery's mounted on the bottom chassis rails - it just is! Thanks in anticipation, Pewe

mines low down too, but accessed through a passenger footrest that doubles as the battery box. Wires run out through grommets and will have a remote jump start terminal for convenience.

Dzus 1/4 turn fasteners, max reach is 14mm IIRC so may not do for your 25mm reach?

Im probs being thick here so apologies in advance.

By ali side panel do you mean the main bodywork down the side of the engine bay?

Is the battery low down in the engine bay? Are you trying to make a cover so it can be hidden but still accessible? What about using a caravan battery box and gaining access from under bonnet?

If sides have to be removable can you simply fit rivnuts in the box section and then bolt the side panels on with stainless fasteners?

Any pics / sketches?
