White reflectors

I know these can't be used on the rear of the car, but can they be used on the sides or do they have to be amber?
I know forward facing is ok though.

If you look at my avatar I want to put the reflectors on the ends of the front wing and the nose, to give me a better chance of being seen when I am trying to pull out of a Give way.

What you want is conspicuity (sp)tape. Available in white amber and red.
