DVLA inspection this afternoon!!

They've accepted my chassis number.
Even said over the phone that a riveted plate was OK. I haven't got round to welding it yet.
Still waiting for SVA date.
I'm getting impatient now.

emsfactory - 26/4/06 at 02:37 PM

I was allowed a riveted plate under the bonnet but had to have a number scribed eleswhere on the car.

donut - 26/4/06 at 02:38 PM

I've got to have mine stamped in the chassis

Hellfire - 26/4/06 at 03:06 PM

Good luck...

may the farce be with you....

muzchap - 26/4/06 at 03:22 PM

LOL @ Hellfire's comment

But GOOD LUCK Brian

Humbug - 26/4/06 at 03:34 PM

Like the others: SVA man wanted to see the number stamped on the chassis

BKLOCO - 26/4/06 at 03:35 PM

All OK.
The man says he sees no reason why they shouldn't issue age related plate although that decision is not his.
Says reg should be straightforward post SVA if all paperwork checks out. Will hear in about a week.
SVA.....Bring it on....

chriscook - 26/4/06 at 04:52 PM

I just had ali plate rivetted to the chassis and that was fine for SVA and DVLA. The DVLA inspector said if i had a log book from a sierra I could have got an age related plate - even with a vauxhall engine.

Can't understand how you can get an inspection from DVLA before SVA.

I've spoken to Shrewsbury who want the MAC with the forms before even discussing an inspection date.

Dead right Hellfire....I feel the farce.

PS

Second SVA tomorrow fingers crossed.

Peteff - 26/4/06 at 05:27 PM

They allocated a chassis number to me without an inspection so I could insure the car to drive to SVA. Their inspector was off at the time but Sheffield VRO said as soon as it resembled a vehicle it could be inspected.

Think it's a case of the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing!
