Got my MAC last week.Applied for registration and have appointment next week for inspection.Have to take car to Newbury. Is it legal to drive it there?
Yes if its insured.
cheers will keep you posted about dcoe angle as i know your interested
I should add AFAIK. As long as its insured, and you have a pre-arranged appointment i think its legal to drive it to any appointment, e.g MOT,
inspection, SVA, rolling road etc
Cheers on the DCOE thing
the lady at the dvla office told me that once my car had passed its sva i couldnt drive it to the dvla office for inspection.but who knows they all seem to have there own rules
I was told the same by the woman at Brum DVLA but if i tried to do my SVA on a certain day she'd try to pop out of her office and have a look.
Check your insurance.
My policy with Adrian Flux says I am ONLY insured to drive to and from pre-booked appointments with SVA & MOT. until I have a registration No.
The DVLA inspector is obliged to visit you for a new registration I believe.
Mine certainly did.
Brian,
Give Adrian Flux a ring, I rang them and asked if it was ok to drive to the inspection and they said yes, no problem as long as you have an
appointment, and they noted it on their records.
HTH,
Rich.
Thanks guys
I was pulled by the police for not having number plates on the way home from my DVLA inspection. They looked at the appointment letter which stated that the car could not be driven to the inspection. They did let me off though.
