SVA, what documents to take with you?
James - 20/6/06 at 11:46 AM

Probably a little premature at this stage but what documentation needs to be taken to SVA test?

1. Pretty sure I need ID (passport).

2. Engine age form,
3. Donor V5C needed?

Anything else documentation wise?

Thanks,
James

I put everything in a folder that was owt to do with the car, keeping all legal stuff on top, to hand, and took it with me 'just in case'!
I can't remember them asking for any of it, but it was such a blur at the time!

I took a file with all the paperwork I had, just in case: receipts, a few pics, copies of forms... didn't need any of them, as it happens, but I didn't fancy failing just because I didn't have a certain bit of paper.

When is your SVA?

Beat me to it, Fozzie!

Dont remember needing ID.
V5 is for registration.
Engine age definitely.
i also needed proof that fuel filler neck pipe was OK with fuel.
Took photos of areas difficult to see.

I also took my build file.

Oh - i also needed proof that my digidash would show a speed in excess of what the car would do.

Hmmm, don't even have a filler neck yet so will look into that.
Reminds me, might need docs to show brakes ok. hmmm.

As for speedo, well it says 150mph and I got a Pinto..... do I need any more evidence!

Cheers,
James

CD with all the pics I had, file with all the paperwork, receipts etc. but I only needed the engine age proof on the day.

DarrenW - 20/6/06 at 01:36 PM

Analogue speedo 150MPH should just be OK for a Pinto As everyone knows theres not much that can beat a Pinto

My problem was that DD2 doesnt show its max so i had to take the advert for the retest.

i got fuel filler pipe from mac#1 - they have a letter ready.
Interestingly my brake pipes werent commented on (braided). I put spirap on the fronts - dont know if that makes a difference.

Insurance documents, if you're driving there.
Also the appointment letter.

Both in case you get stopped on the way...

If it's a Ford Engine then write to:

Technical Information Centre
Ford Motor Company
PO Box 300
Walsall
WS5 4QH

Fax: 01922 725 266

They will write back saying the month and year of manufacture.

Except they had no records of my 1978 Pinto
