graememk - 28/6/06 at 10:34 PM

dont quote me but i have a s12 and i think the 200 had a s14 .

might be talking poo though

Earlier Nissan 200sx were S13 and had CA18DET engines Later models were S14 and I think engine was SR20DET In any case, Haynes don't do manual for 200sx of any type

Silvia seems to be called S12.

A post on www.sxoc.com might get you some help

If it's turbocharged then it will be an SA18-DET

The silvia was released in 2 guises using that engine, the S12 and the S13. The engine was only in use in these cars between 1987 & 1990

The s13 was also called the 180sx, this model was in use between 1990 and 1996

The CA18 DE and DET in rear wheel drive form were produced by Nissan for the S13 Silvia / 200SX / 180SX (different names for different markets) from mid 1988 through to late 1990 when it was replaced by the SR20DE / DET...still as a S13. Both engines were produced side by side for a short period with the older engine going to some export markets. The S12, S13, S14, S15 refer not to the engine but the chassis series.
